Manchester’s beloved local coffee shop, Coffee by David, has announced that Saturday will be its final day open to the public. The business, which has proudly served the Manchester community since November 2022, shared the news in a heartfelt message on Facebook, citing a “city conflict of interest and pure selfish city politics” as the reason behind the closure.

Coffee by David is no newcomer to the coffee world—owners David and his team have been in the business for 26 years, earning a loyal customer base both in Manchester and beyond. During their nearly two years downtown, the shop became more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee. It was a community hub where friendships were made and neighbors connected.

In their announcement, the owners thanked the community for its support:

“We have met so many incredible people who have become lasting friends! Right now—all we have left to give you is our heartfelt thank you!”

While the café will close its doors to daily visitors, the business isn’t shutting down entirely. Coffee by David will continue roasting coffee beans and fulfilling orders. Customers can still purchase their favorite blends by emailing coffeebydavid@yahoo.com or calling 770-599-1932.

There may also be hope for a comeback. The owners hinted that the shop could reopen after the upcoming election on November 8, encouraging residents to make their voices heard:

“YOU NEVER KNOW—you just might see our doors open again after election day. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!”

As Manchester says goodbye—at least for now—to one of its favorite coffee spots, the outpouring of support on social media reflects just how much Coffee by David has meant to the community.
