Woodland, GA — The City of Woodland in Talbot County has officially announced its upcoming general election for the selection of Mayor and all five City Council members. The election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., following state election procedures.

The newly elected officials will serve from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2029.

Candidate Qualification Period
The qualifying period for candidates will open on Monday, August 18, 2025, and close on Friday, August 22, 2025. Prospective candidates must be qualified voters under Georgia law and the City of Woodland Charter and Ordinances, and must have been a Woodland resident for at least twelve months before the election date.

Qualifying will take place at Woodland City Hall, 49 East Main Street, during the following hours:

  • Monday, Aug. 18: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 19: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 20: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 21: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 22: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The qualifying fee is $108.00 for the Mayor’s seat and $36.00 for a Council seat.

Voter Information
Early voting will run from Tuesday, October 14, 2025, through Friday, October 31, 2025. The deadline to register to vote in this election is Monday, October 6, 2025. Voter registration can be completed at the Elections Office in Talbotton, online at sos.ga.gov under the “Elections” tab, or at the Georgia Department of Driver Services.
